Co-owner, West Chowles started baking and perfecting his recipe

for crunchies in 2008 from his home in Fish Hoek, Cape Town,

South Africa.

His daughters wheat-intolerance and families inability to find wheat-free

products, that did not use flour substitutes, led him to develop our

wheat-free crunchy, which contains no flour and no flour substitutes.

This allows for a wheat-free crunchy without compromising the flavour.

In 2015, co-owner, Kyle Chowles joined his father to create The Tree of Life Bakery, and the rest is history.
